Little Visitors

They say that your body is your home, but in this home, he is never alone. They all come to visit, late at night, uninvited, and always over staying their welcome. The more he asks them to go away, the more they plant their roots to stay.

She has been aware of this for quite some time. Each joke that he makes allows one to escape. She catches them, hoping that they will stick to her and let him be. She tries to be the hero like the ones from the stories that she read while growing up. But she knows the truth. In this world, heroes do not exist – not the way that they are fantasized to be. We are all just scared, alone, and afraid. She is no different yet she attempts to suit up and be the protector, still frightened.

A Landmark Case

He wanted to be an architect but after college he began to work in construction, where the jobs were sporadic but his wife loved it. She loved watching how seemingly insignificant objects could transform into massive structures. To him, she was architecturally beautiful. Upon having the blueprints of her revealed to him, he concluded that she could never be replicated. He loved every inch of her, even her imperfections, if he had the chance he would have declared her as a landmark so that she would remain unchanged.

The Parrot, The Monkey, and The Mirror

Everyday Parrot would fly down from his tree to visit the massive mirror that remained underneath it. Today was no different. He woke up, groomed his feathers and swerved down to the mirror. However, to his surprise, a monkey was examining the mirror. Frustrated, Parrot flew faster to confront the scoundrel, for the mirror clearly belonged to Parrot. No one else in the jungle ever came to look at it.
