Life Simulations: Are You Playing to Win?

As huge of a fan that I am, there is a major problem with these games. As we began to age, there is an increase in the dissociation of self caused by them. From what began with being participants in costumes, and continued to masking our wishes behind dolls and action figures, we are now merely tapping a button. Simulations have become a double-edged sword. On one end, now more than ever, we are truly allowed to transport ourselves into another life without making any adjustments; however, in this transportation, we miss our stop, forgetting that in this instance, the journey is not the destination.

Why My Interracial Relationship Isn’t Black and White

To some, the prospect of a black man dating a white woman leads to a highly valuable commodity. Single-handedly, or should I perhaps say through holding hands, my relationship ends racism. People believe that our relationship is an indicator of living in a post-racial world but that very assumption goes against that very ludicrous statement. If we truly lived in such a world, my race nor his race would matter. Yet it does, significantly. Surprisingly, (sarcasm) to people who are not even a part of it.

Colors

In elementary school I learned my primary colors,

Yet black and white were never a part of this list,

But our society revolves around these colors.

Black and white are just two more categories.

A systematic way to create sectionalized territories.

A way to reduce humans to colors that were never primary

All while making other colors appear secondary.

What is at the core of our essence? What is it that makes us inherently and inevitably human? It is actually quite a riddle because it is this very aspect that both unites and divides us. Although it creates humanity, it also breeds destruction. Do you know the answer? If not, don’t fret, it is probably because I am not making myself clear enough.
